JIMMY BUFFETT & the CORAL REEFER BAND return to the Santa Barbara Bowl on Thursday, October 16!!
Over 30 albums released…. 8 GOLD albums….. 9 Platinum or Multi Platinum.
Jimmy Buffett was always drawn to the sea... moving to Key West in the early 1970’s and adopting his trademark ‘beachcombing/island escapism’ persona. He quickly gained a loyal following who reveled in the laid-back atmosphere of his live shows. Fans began wearing Hawaiian shirts, ‘island’ hats, grass skirts, leis, coconut bras, and flip flops, and following Buffett in Grateful-Dead style, they started calling themselves “Parrotheads.”
His concerts became legendary events. Here is how Kelly Salonica, from the Country Standard Time, described the concert at Jones Beach in Wantagh, New York, that she attended: “With Jimmy Buffett, the fun starts in the parking lot!….Pulling into the parking lot was almost as entertaining as watching Buffett on stage. This was an anything-goes-day-into-night shindig and the only ground rule was to have fun…Buffett style.
Buffett played for 2 ½ hours, taking only a 10-minute break. By the time all was said (or sung) and done, you knew life was good. How many performers can give you something as priceless as that for the price of a ticket?!”
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band is a ‘not to be missed’ event, beginning at 7:00 PM on Thursday Night, October 16!
For those wanting to bike to the performance…. take advantage of the “Bike Valet at the Bowl’ from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
On your way to the concert, consider stopping off at On the Alley for some great casual food that travels well, or enjoy picnic table dining with a fabulous view of the Harbor!
